Gorillaz,Race Cars, Coachella and Good Times.

Hello never ending internet universe. Does the internet have an end? I dunno but I don't think so. We are all a part of it. A magical place where anything is possible. I think. I am just naive so don't believe all you hear from me. Its been a while since I rambled on here so I am gonna try to get better at doing this more often. We are playing every Tuesday this month at 14 Below in Santa Monica. Its at 14th and Santa Monica and its 2 Dollar tuesdays. Drink specials galore so if ya like to drink this is right up your alley. Plus we probably sound amazing to you if you're drunk. We try to play with a lot of passion and give it our all everytime so hopefully you see that. Lots of guest bands we are friends with are playing too. Like Nu Savant (formally The Naked....how long do we have to write that after their new name anyways? Is there a specified time period. They are awesome!) ,Red Circle Underground, Franco Near Death, The Deadlies, Beth Paige Black,Cityzen, and the lovely DJ Miss Aubrey spinning awesome tunes.
Music to me is about a journey. Its been life's soundtrack in so many ways. Its a celebration!(bitches! Picture Dave Chappelle doing Rick James here) Anyways.......Music brings people together. Its about unity. My experience friday night started thursday night with a text to a good friend. Gorillaz are one of my favorite bands of all time. Damon Albarn is one of my favorite singers in this modern day and has been for quite some time. So I didn't want to go on the Coachella merry go round for 3 days but I really wanted to see Gorillaz. Turns out they were playing a warm-up rehearsal show here in town friday night. Secret show.So I reached out to a good friend of mine who has connections. He gave it his all and put out several calls to get me in. I am so very grateful for my friend who will remain nameless.God smiled on me and I witnessed a Gorillaz show like no other. It was amazing. All the great musicians Damon Albarn brought together for it is so awesome. Bobby Womack, De La Soul, Mick Jones and Paul Simonon from The Clash and many more. I witnessed UNITY thru music.
Then Saturday morning came and we played the Long Beach Grand Prix with our good friends Ironheel. Two hard working bands sharing a stage at a Grand Prix.Unity through music. Then their drummer Jimbo and my two bandmates Gilday and Kevin headed back out to the desert for Coachella and more UNITY thru music. Oh after our current drummer Steve Coy took us for amazing Tacos in Long Beach. Yummmm.
So many good times through music and so much UNITY through music.
I try to get people to understand the strength in numbers thing with bands. Its so much better than going it alone in this industry. Build a community of bands through the unity of our music and see what happens. I had a pretty awesome conversation with Keith from Nu Savant(formally The Naked...hehe) about all this when we were at the Kibitz Room and I can't really remember if they were playing or we were or The Shakers but I know Frankie from Fat City Reprise had something to do with the UNITY that night. I hope we continue as a band to grow and to grow with our fellow bands we have as friends now. I hope to play music for you soon so we can be united.
Be well.
